La Roche Posay Moisturizer SPF Review

La Roche Posay Moisturizer SPF Review

I’m back on more drugstore skincare with this La Roche Posay Moisturizer SPF review!

Generally, I prefer mineral or physical sunscreens to chemical sunscreens like this one from La Roche Posay. However, some people don’t like those because they can leave a white cast.

Today, I’ll review the La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Facial Moisturizer with SPF. Since it has unique prebiotic benefits, by the end, you’ll be able to decide if this is the right product for you!

Overview of Sunscreen

Sunscreen is just facial moisturizer with filters to protect your skin from uv rays. The La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Facial Moisturizer with SPF is no different.

This La Roche Posay prebiotic product has a paraben free formula with a high average rating value) will boost your skin’s natural protective barrier.

If you deal with hyperpigmentation, have sensitive skin, or are serious about anti-aging, you may want to consider wearing SPF to offset the aging effects of UVA.

Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer with SPF

La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Facial Moisturizer with SPF

This is a good complement to the La Roche Posay toleriane double repair face moisturizer.

I’m just saying, La Roche Posay prebiotic thermal spring water always hits. It’s great for sensitive skin.

And it’s super cool to see it in a sunscreen too this time.

With a unique lightweight blend of ingreidents, La Roche Posay dermatologist tested face moisturizer will replenish your skin’s natural protective barrier:

  • La Roche Posay prebiotic thermal water
  • Ceramide-3
  • Niacinamide
  • Glycerin

It provides broad spectrum UVA UVB protection.

I like this product for dry skin or sensitive skin, but really, it’s good for anyone who wants healthy looking skin.

Benefits of La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF

You can expect happy skin from La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF in addition to broadspectrum protection!

La Roche Posay prides itself on its formulas with prebiotic thermal water to protect your skin microbiome.

Similar to La Roche Posay double repair face moisturizer, it may be lightweight enough for sensitive skin.

The Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer SPF was carefully formulated for sensitive skin.

Active ingredients

La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Facial Moisturizer with SPF has chemical UV sunscreen filters that include:

  • Avobenzone
  • Homosalate
  • Octisalate
  • Octocrylene

Inactive ingredients

La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV is a dermatologist recommended sunscreen that will help you keep healthy looking skin. Some of the most important inactive ingredients include:

  • Ceramide-3 (ceramide NP)
  • Niacinamide
  • Glycerin
  • Dimethicone

A high concentration of ingredients like this ideal for healthy looking skin.

For all skin types, you’ll find that this sunscreen has a refreshing texture that will immediately restore skin comfort.

People with combination skin may particularly like it.

Ceramide-3 (ceramide NP)

Ceramides are essential for dry skin and sensitive skin because they support your moisture barrier.

This guy is also your dry skin or sensitive skin best friend. It’s a vitamin B3 derivative that supports all day hydration.

You’ll commonly find it in non comedogenic face cream, moisturizer, or sunscreen.

This humectant also supports all day hydration by binding to environmental water.

It has undergone stringent clinical testing and proven to be great for protecting your skin barrier.

I love seeing this is moisturizer and sunscreen alike.

This one gets a bad reputation, but I like it. It’s a light weight silicone polymer that locks in moisture and prevents transepidermal water loss.

How to Use La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Facial Moisturizer with SPF

A good facial moisturizer with SPF is the last step in my morning skincare routine.

The La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Facial Moisturizer with SPF will fit in easily to your routine.

Here are the steps I would take to use it properly:

  1. Cleanse
  2. Apply a vitamin C serum (optional)
  3. Moisturize (optional)
  4. SPF

Facial moisturizer is optional here because, again, sunscreen is really just facial moisturizer with SPF.

Cleanse Your Face

This one’s easy. Use a dermatologist recommended product and gentle circular motions to wash your face!

I suggest picking up Stratia Velvet Cleansing Milk and reading my Stratia Cleanser Review.

Apply Vitamin C (optional)

Not everyone’s skin loves vitamin C or different types of citric acid.

Generally I prefer to avoid a high concentration anyways; 10-15% tends to be the sweet spot. We want to keep our skin smooth and avoid irritation.

Some forms of vitamin C are better for oily skin anyways, like sodium ascorbyl phosphate and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate.

I don’t love the vitamin C from La Roche Posay Skin, but two of my other favorites are:

A high concentration above 20% is too much in opinion. So even if you prefer something other than these products, try to stay below that.

Moisturize Skin (optional)

This step will help keep your skin hydrated by locking in water.

La Roche Posay actually makes a bunch of good ones, check out my review here: Best La Roche Posay Face Cream.

A good lightweight daily facial moisturizer doesn’t have to be oil free, but it shouldn’t clog pores (non comedogenic).

In general, if you have super oily skin, you may want to skip face cream or moisturizer in the morning.

Some people have strict rules about their skin moisturizer like paraben free or they worry about it will feel greasy. In my opinion, the best moisturizer is the one you’ll use on your skin every day.

Ingredients I like in a skin moisturizer include ceramide NP, palmitic acid, stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, stearyl alcohol, and caprylyl glycol.

If you have dry skin or combo skin, you’ll like the La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer.

Apply Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF (UV SPF Sunscreen)

As long as it’s non comedogenic for skin, I apply this as my last skin care step in the morning everyday.

Although it’s not quite oil free, I don’t mind as it’s easily absorbed and non comedogenic.

Plus again, I love the La Roche Posay prebiotic thermal water!
