Paula’s Choice Morning Routine
These are the best Paula’s Choice products to build a great morning skincare routine.
Step 1: Ultra Gentle Cleanser
To start off your morning right, try either rinsing with water or washing your face with this Ultra Gentle Cleanser. It’s suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin, and gives you a fresh canvas to layer the rest of morning skincare products.
Step 2: C15 Super Booster
One of the most important active ingredients for anti-aging to add into your skincare routine is Vitamin C. To help with uneven skin tone and dull skin, this product is formualted with:
15% l-ascorbic acid
Vitamin E
Ferulic acid
Make sure to apply 3-5 drops of this product on dry skin and gently rub in until absorbed.
Step 3: Pro-Collagen Multi Peptide Booster
After applying vitamin C, you can also try a peptide serum to help with aging skin concerns.
By the time you get to your mid-20s, your body is no longer products collagen and new skin cells as quickly as it did when you were younger. This product, formulated with pro-collagen peptides and hyaluronic acid, will help increase your skin’s elasticity and firmness.
Apply 3-5 drops all of your face and neck, then gently rub in until absorbed.
Step 4: Skin Recovery Replenishing Moisturizer
Moisturizing is an essential step in your routine, and this one is suitable for oily skin and dry skin alike. Plus, it includes a ton of skin-loving ingredients and licorice extract which is awesome for getting rid of dark spots.
Step 5: Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50
No morning skincare routine is complete without a broad spectrum sunscreen to help reduce your exposure to excess UV and premature aging. SPF helps even the skin tone and help you achieve younger looking skin.
Paula’s Choice Night Routine
Step 1: Perfect Cleansing Oil
If you’re wearing makeup and sunscreen throughout the day, the first step of your nighttime routine should be an oil cleanser. Oil cleansers help breakdown makeup and SPF better than traditional water-based cleansers and can help reduce your chances of breaking out.
This one is formulated with sunflower and coconut oils, so be sure to thoroughly cleanse your skin (see step 2) afterwards, especially if you have acne prone skin.
Step 2: Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser
This cleanser has a few great soothing ingredients to still be gentle enough to clean your skin without stripping your natural oils too much.
If you have oily or acne prone skin, you may prefer a cleanser with salicylic acid. In that case, I suggest checking out the Renewing SA Cleanser from CeraVe.
Step 3: 1% Retinol Booster
The gold standard in anti-aging is hands down retinol.
Retinol is a vitamin A derivative that helps fight signs of premature aging and turn over dead skin cells. By the time you reach your mid-20s, it’s a good idea to start include retinol in your routine.
To use this product, dispense a pea-sized amount onto your pointer finger. Then, dot that pea all over your face and gentle rub it in. Start with 3 nights per week and slowly work your way up to 5-6.
Step 4: Calm Repairing Serum
This step is optional, but I love following up my retinoid with a solid hydrating or repair serum. This one includes hyaluronic acid and ceramides to help protect your skin barrier.
Even though I included this in your evening routine, you can technically wear it during the day as well. Personally, I love using a hydrating serum like this twice a day.
If you deal with rosacea or irritation, you can also consider Paula’s Choice Redness Relief Toner for calming redness.
Step 5: Clinical Ultra Rich Moisturizer
Cleansing and using retinol can cause dryness, and generally, it’s best to finish off your routine by replenishing your skin barrier with omega fatty acids and other ingredients. That means you need to moisturize!
This moisturizer includes shea butter which can be ideal for dry and dehydrated skin.
Step 6: Moisture Renewal Oil Booster
If you have dry skin like me, you may benefit from a facial oil. This one has a lovely texture and a great blend of oils and fatty acids that also provide some antioxidant protection.
