Can I use CeraVe AM Moisturizer at night?

Nope! Sunscreen protects your skin from UV rays. These rays are only present when the sun is out.

Therefore, you don’t need it while you sleep! This sunscreen is suitable for morning use instead.

Also, unlike other standard moisturizers, you may find that it clogs pores if you use at night.

Alternatives to Sunscreen

There are many types of sun protection if you don’t want to use SPF. To protect yourself, you can:

  • Eat a healthy diet to reduce your chance of burning
  • Moisturizer regularly to prevent dryness and irritation
  • Watch your skin and take shade from sunlight before you start to burn

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Skincare Questions with BowTiedFawn branding

Is the CeraVe PM Moisturizer good for morning use?

CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with BowTiedFawn branding

Yeah, I prefer this facial moisturizing lotion! This night cream is good for acne prone skin and sensitive skin.

It has 4% niacinamide which is great for dry skin as well because it will nourish your protective skin barrier. Plus, niacinamide is great to improve dark spots!

However, it does not not have any SPF filters in it so it won’t protect against wrinkles or age.

Can you use CeraVe Moisturizing Cream on your face?

Yes! This treatment is one of my favorite skincare products. The formula is great for your skin barrier as it includes:

  • Ceramides
  • Niacinamide
  • Glycerin
  • Hyaluronic acid

Unfortunately, it is too rich to work for all skin types. Instead, it’s best for dry skin.

Be sure to check out my comparison of Cetaphil vs. CeraVe Moisturizer as well.

When to apply moisturizer?

Ideally, you would nourish your skin barrier with moisturizer or lotion twice per day, morning and night.

However, if that doesn’t work for your life style, try to do it at least once per day.

Moisturizing is great for supporting your skin barrier. Also, it will reduce the appearance of a fine line on your face for at least a little bit.

Should you wear sunscreen or SPF at night?

CeraVe Hydrating Mineral SPF 30 with BowTiedFawn branding

Nope! The sun isn’t out at night.

SPF is good for morning wear to keep your exposed skin protected from sun damage.

Do you need sunscreen if you use retinol?

Yes. Retinol causes photosensitivity, so your skin will burn more easily.

It’s best to stay understand how retinol works and keep your skin protected instead.
