CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser Review

CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser is one of my favorite drugstore cleansers.

In addition to classic salicylic acid which a great anti acne ingredient, it also includes niacinamide to support your protective skin barrier.

Overall, this salicylic acid cleanser enhanced with other skin loving ingredients is a great affordable option for people with normal skin and acne prone skin. That being said, it might be too strong for people with dry or sensitive skin.

This article will explain everything you need to know about CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser.

CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser

The CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser boasts a key ingredient that caught my attention: salicylic acid.

Known for its exfoliating properties, salicylic acid is a game-changer when it comes to combating acne breakouts. It penetrates deep into the pores, unclogs them, and helps prevent future breakouts.

Also, salicylic acid is a great ingredient to reduce texture and rough skin.

As someone prone to acne, this ingredient was a significant selling point for me.

Key Ingredients

In addition to salicylic acid, CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser has some great skin loving ingredients:

  • Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid: provides hydration and helps maintain your skin’s moisture balance

  • Niacinamide: regulates sebum production and supports your natural skin barrier function

  • Gluconalactone: provides mild exfoliation benefits and fights skin texture

As with all CeraVe products, the Renewing SA Cleanser also includes three essential ceramides to support your skin’s natural protective barrier.

Additionally, some of the preservatives in the formula include sodium benzoate, xanthan gum, and sodium chloride.

Renewing SA Cleanser

Having gone through a full bottle of CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser, I can confirm that the salicylic acid effectively targets my acne.

In fact, I think this is one of the best salicylic acid products you can get at the drugstore.

It reduces blemishes and prevents new ones from forming. That being said, it does feel a bit stripping on my dry skin.

I definitely think this cleanser is more suitable for people with oilier skin types.

Benefits

The CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser offers a ton of benefits for people dealing with oily and acne prone skin.

For example, it’s exfoliating properties help to reduce excess oil and clogged pores. In turn, this fights breakouts and skin texture.

Additionally, this cleanser will help rid your skin of dirt and impurities and makes a great first step in your skincare routine.

Texture

CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser has a lightweight gel-like texture that spreads easily and lathers into a light foam.

Thankfully, it doesn’t have any harsh microbeads so it won’t damage your skin barrier.

I enjoyed using it and felt like it cleansed my face thoroughly.

Packaging

I like the Renewing SA Cleanser packaging.

The pump bottle design is convenient and hygienic, allowing for easy dispensing and minimizing product waste.

Is CeraVe SA cleanser good for oily skin?

Absolutely!

The CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser is specifically formulated to address the needs of oily skin.

Its active ingredients, including salicylic acid, work to control excess oil production and fight acne.

If you have oily skin, it’s definitely worth checking out this cleanser.

Conclusion: Renewing SA Cleanser Review

While the CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser is a good addition to my routine for controlling acne, using it every day is too drying for my already dry skin.

My preference is to stick to a gentle, hydrating cleanser and use other acne treatments instead.

That being said, I still think this is an effective and affordable product for people with oily and acne prone skin.
