Korean skincare is in a league of its own, but one of the best things we’ve ever gotten from it is green tea moisturizer.
There are a whole bunch on the market, but today I’m covering 5 of what I think are the best for every budget and skin concern!
Moisturizer Overview

If you want beautiful skin, you have to moisturize. This is nonnegotiable in my world to protect and soothe your skin.
Also, this goes double if you’re using active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide.
A good moisturizer will alleviate dryness and promote clear skin by nourishing your skin cells.
Even if you deal with acne or oily skin, there is a still a moisturizer out there for you that you can apply daily that won’t clog pores or give you breakouts.
What to Avoid
Even though fragrance can be great for your nose, I try to avoid it in formulas.
Green Tea Overview
Also known as camellia sinensis, green tea moisturizer is a phenomenal source of antioxidants. It’s almost like a baby sunscreen or SPF in that way (but no, it’s not enough to protect you).
The benefits of green tea moisturizer in skin care and body care are incredible for intense hydration and soothing skin damage from sun exposure or other external factors.
Different Types of Green Tea in Skincare
There are commonly 4 different botanical extracts of green tea found in skincare products:
- Camellia sinensis leaf water
- Camellia sinensis leaf extract
- Camellia sinensis seed extract
- Camellia sinensis seed oil
You can find face moisturizer and toners with these.
What does green tea moisturizer do?
It keeps your skin hydrated, will alleviate dryness, help with skin firmness, and protects your skin from external factors with extra moisture.
The last part is probably the most important for your skin to prevent against moisture loss.
A good green tea moisturizer is packed with antioxidants kind of like vitamin C. The rich texture will help your skin refresh whether you’ve just taken your makeup off, are dealing with acne prone skin, or just need more moisture.
Who is green tea moisturizer good for?
Green tea moisturizer is great for literally all skin types as long as it doesn’t give you breakouts. This includes:
- Dry skin
- Sensitive skin
- Oily skin (including acne prone skin)
- Irritated skin
- Normal skin
As someone who frequently deals with dry and irritated skin, I can tell you firsthand that I love green tea extract.
Top 5 Green Tea Moisturizers
These are some of my favorite green tea moisturizers. Pick the one that works best for your skin type and budget!
Laneige White Dew Vita Capsule Sleeping Mask

This green tea moisturizer is wonderful for dry skin and sensitive skin. There are a number of silicones in the formula that should be ideal for all skin types, but it may be a little heavy for oily skin or acne.
Unfortunately this product is no longer available in the United States.
Nuva Skin Retinol Intensive Anti-Aging Moisturizer

For acne prone skin, the combination of retinol and green tea botanical extracts in this intensive moisturizer is ideal.
This stuff would also be good for a mature skin type.
Benton Deep Green Tea Lotion

The Benton Green Tea moisturizer works great as a daily moisturizer. Plus all of the different green tea derivatives will help with dark spots and reducing an oily appearance or pores.
And, of course, hyaluronic acid is great for all skin types.
Honest Beauty Everyday Radiance Moisturizer with Green Tea (cruelty free)

I love this Honest Beauty green tea moisturizer for dry skin. The brand is cruelty free and the aloe vera, hydrolzed hyaluronic acid, and glycerin benefits in the formula will protect your moisture barrier.
Amore Pacific Time Response Skin Reserve Creme with Green Tea

This daily moisturizer formula with green tea is fascinating. It contains a unique blend antioxidants, aloe vera, sodium hyaluronate, and stem cells to help with sun damage.

Neither of these have green tea, but I love them all the same.
Like I said earlier, the best way to keep your skin and body happy is to moisturize.
Don’t Forget . . .
. . . to wash your face first!

Before you go – remember that moisturizers work best when applied to clean, damp skin.
One of my favorites is Stratia Velvet Cleansing Milk because the formula doesn’t have fragrance and it’s super gentle.
. . . sunscreen in the mornings!

A good fragrance free SPF is important for anti aging. It will soothe irritated skin and provide antioxidants and hydration benefits to fight sun damage.
In my opinion, a good SPF is better than makeup for your face and skin. Plus a tinted, rich one can cover up pores on your nose!
For this, check out my La Roche Posay SPF Review.
